The KIIT-School of Public Health (KSPH) had organized a ‘Career Talk’ for its MHA and MPH students on October 13th, 2023. The session was addressed by Dr Jyoti Ghosal, an alumnus of the KIIT-School of Public Health (MPH 2017-19 Batch). Dr Ghosal is currently pursuing her PhD at the KSPH and also working as a Senior Research Fellow at the prestigious ICMR-Regional Medical Research Center, Bhubaneswar.

At the outset, Prof. (Dr.) Bhuputra Panda, Director, KSPH formally welcomed and introduced Dr Ghosal to the students. Prof. Panda emphasized on the ‘Alumni Interface’ initiatives taken by the school and the significance of such interactions in providing career counselling and guidance to the existing students. In total, 75 students from the MHA and MPH programs were engaged in the interactive session with Dr Ghosal. In addition, Mr. Saumya Ranjna Pani -a faculty member from the KSPH was also present in the event.

Dr Ghosal shared her stimulating journey in the field of public health in her discourse so as to inspire the ambitious students. She reflected on ‘research’ as a career after the postgraduation in public health and hospital administration. She supplemented the session with a few essential life-skill tips for the students who are aspiring for PhD after their postgraduation. The students also broached up a couple of topics for discussion with Dr Ghosal. The session ended with a vote of thanks to Dr Ghosal for sharing her valuable insights with the students.
