A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KIIT School of Public health (KSPH), KIIT Deemed to be University (KIIT DU) and ICMR – Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR – RMRC), Bhubaneswar on 30 August 2023 for strengthening collaborative research and academic endeavours between the two eminent organizations in
Bhubaneswar in the disciplines of public health, medical and allied health sciences.
Prof. Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Vice-Chancellor of KIIT DU and Prof. Dr. Bhuputra Panda, Director of KSPH signed the MoU on behalf of KIIT-KSPH; while Dr Sanghmitra Pati, Director of RMRC signed on behalf of ICMR-RMRC, Bhubaneswar. The honourable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samanta emphasized the need for conducting research on crosscutting issues and encouraged various schools of KIIT DU such as to actively engage with ICMR. Dr. Sanghamitra Pati advocated for greater collaboration not just with School of Public Health but also with other schools such as Biotechnology, Law and Rural management.
Prof. Panda, Director, KSPH appreciated the efforts of ICMR- RMRC in supporting research and other collaborative activities with the School of Public Health. He hoped that this
partnership would go a long way in addressing public health issues of the state. Moreover, during this event, Prof. Dr. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT DU, deans and
directors of other schools of KIIT DU, scientists from ICMR-RMRC as well as other dignitaries from KIIT DU were present during the event.
